Useful refrigeration advice
Fruit and vegetables are available in various sizes and have different storage needs. It is therefore important to regard your fridge as a dynamic storage location with different temperature zones, unlike your freezer, which only needs a static temperature, as the food basically just needs to be kept frozen.
Fridges from Gorenje are divided into 3 temperature zones:
- 8 °C: The highest temperature range. This is best for storing such things as butter, mayonnaise, jam, fruit and vegetables that cannot tolerate temperatures below 8 °C.
- 5 °C: Ideal for storing dairy products, juices, prepared foods such as cooked meats, and meat products.
- 1-5 °C – cool’n’fresh – the coldest place in the fridge. A special drawer ideal for storing oranges, apples, lettuce and carrots, as well as fresh fish.
